Meet and Greets

One of  the big attractions at Disney is meeting the characters and collecting their autographs.  You can even book meals with certain characters - breakfast at Cinderella's castle with the princesses, dinner at Chef Mickey's - you get the picture.  This is something that I thought Matt would totally not be interested in.  He has always been more than a little leery of anything in a giant costume, whether it be Scooby Doo, Clifford, or Mr. Red at the ballpark.  But just in case, I bought an autograph book and took it with us.  Much to my surprise, meeting the characters was one of the highlights of Matt's trip.

He met the folks from Toy Story and Cars, as well as other film and TV characters, and of course, The Mouse himself.  There were a few he wanted no part of: he adamantly refused to go near Pirate Goofy, the guys from Monsters, Inc., and both Donald and Daisy Duck.  Oh, and all the princesses - there was no way he was getting his picture taken with a princess.  "That's for GIRLS, mom.  I am NOT doing that."    But the ones he met were cool, and getting the autographs turned out to be a fun diversion for all of us.
