Matt made a flag at school today and was happily waving it when I picked him up. I explained to him that we wave flags on July 4th because it's America's birthday and everyone takes part in a big birthday party for the country.
He looked at me thoughtfully and then asked, in a very hopeful voice: "Cake?"
That's my boy.
