I apologize for being remiss with the blogging as of late; we are very busy trying to get the new house in shape for the big move. Posts may be few and far between for a while until we get settled in.
We've had a very hectic couple of weeks - between closing on the new house and Christmas, it has been non-stop crazy here. Matt and his class sang in the school assembly ("Rudolph," complete with antlers and little red noses), we saw Santa several times, went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert, made ornaments, baked cookies, and then had multiple Christmases. Here is your total picture overload:

With Santa:
Although I know this particular Santa and know he's a very nice man, for some reason this picture reminds me of that old Saturday Night Live skit with John Belushi as the sleazy department store Santa - the one where Dan Aykroyd puts the Santi-Wrap toilet seat cover on Santa's lap. "Sure.. Santi-Wrap - the colorful, decorative and hygienic way to protect yourself from germs carried by the likes of a part-time Santa Claus. Look, he's so jolly, he's smart, he knows if you've been sleeping - but do you know where he's been sleeping?" Maybe that's just me, though.
Christmas morning
The Christmas morning tradition of trying to assemble things with incomplete directions written in the tiniest type imaginable and supplemented with incomprehensible pictograms:
Just for Auntie Jenn - Matt and his giant squid (Architeuthis), which came with a very cool submarine.
Loving his new fire station:
Nothing was as cool as what Santa left, however - a new bicycle.
A superlative wrapping job:
Can't even wait to get outside:
Trying it out:
Christmas part 2:
Convincing Matt to leave his new bicycle was not easy, but eventually we made it to Tennessee to Charles' family celebration.
New scooter:
Watching "A Christmas Story" with Uncle Ray - Matt loves the tongue stuck to the flagpole part. Hopefully he will not to reenact this.
Proof that people with children older than yours will get even with you for giving their children horribly noisy presents when they were small, otherwise known as "Payback from Cousin Jeff."
And yes, it makes chainsaw noises. Loud ones. Super.
Christmas, part three (Hosker family):

Admiring his new watch:
A very good Christmas was had by all. Now, on to Matt's birthday next week. God give me strength.
