Making the now traditional gingerbread houses. Very, very, VERY messy (I wonder if Grandma has gotten all the squished gumdrops out of her carpet yet) but entertaining. Matt had some definite design ideas this year. The candies along the roof line are "Christmas lights," and there are some peppermint wreaths on there somewhere.
He was very intent this year in his decorating. Grandma is an incredibly good sport and is once again using the finished products as her Christmas centerpiece.
We also hit the World of Trains outdoor exhibit at the local Children's Museum. My son is proving to be a true train freak - he was completely unfazed by the bitter cold, wanting only to see the model trains trek around the layout.
I predict that in several years we'll be structuring our family vacations around train spots - Saluda Grade, here we come.
