We took the annual Santa Train trip through K-25 yesterday. Although our numbers were down due to inclement weather and other obligations, we still had a great time. Matt is such a train guy - he just loves riding the rails. It was, as always, an interesting trip through Oak Ridge history. Particularly interesting was the fact that parts of the movie "October Sky" were filmed on
that track line. Matt also had a fine new railroad hat this year that makes authentic railroad noises, courtesy of Aunt Janet.
Braving the cold with Grandma and Grandpa:

Not happy about the engine noise:

Excited about an upcoming road crossing - because that means another opportunity to wave at stopped traffic.

Hydrochloric acid tank cars on the next track. Merry Christmas from Oak Ridge. Try not to let the fumes eat your lungs from the inside out.

Leery of Santa:

Just loving life

More merriment to come.
